Porcelain Veneers in Riverview, FL

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made ceramic shells bonded to the front of your teeth to change their color, shape, and size. At Omni Dental Studio in Riverview, Dr. Ariana Merchi plans each case with a digital smile preview, so you can see where you're headed before a single tooth is touched.

What Can Porcelain Veneers Fix?

Veneers fix how the front of a tooth looks: deep stains, chips, small gaps, and teeth that are short or uneven. They work best on teeth that are otherwise healthy, with healthy gums and enough enamel to bond to. Active gum disease or significant decay needs to be treated first.

Stains whitening can't reach

Some discoloration sits deep inside the tooth and doesn't respond to bleaching. Porcelain covers it with the shade you choose.

Chips and small cracks

A veneer rebuilds the front of a chipped tooth so it matches its neighbors in shape and finish.

Gaps between teeth

Slightly wider veneers can close small spaces without orthodontic treatment.

Short, small, or uneven teeth

Veneers can even out tooth length and proportions so the smile line looks balanced.

Minor crowding

Mild irregularities can be masked. Significant misalignment is a job for orthodontics, not veneers.

How Many Visits Do Veneers Take?

Porcelain veneers typically take two treatment appointments: one to prepare the teeth and one to bond the finished veneers. In between, a dental lab crafts your veneers, and you wear temporaries so your smile looks complete while you wait.

  1. Step 1

    Consultation and smile preview

Dr. Merchi examines your teeth and gums, talks through what you want to change, and uses digital smile design so you can preview the proposed result before any tooth is prepared.

  2. Step 2

    Preparation visit

A very thin layer of enamel is removed from the front of each tooth so the veneer sits flush. Records of your teeth go to a dental lab, and temporary veneers protect your teeth while the porcelain is made.

  3. Step 3

    Bonding visit

The temporaries come off, each veneer is checked for fit and color, and then it is bonded permanently in place.

Do I Need Veneers, or Would Whitening or Bonding Work?

If your only concern is color and your teeth respond to bleaching, whitening is the simpler first step. If you have one small chip or gap, bonding with tooth-colored resin may be enough. Veneers make the most sense when you want to change the shape and shade of several front teeth with a durable, stain-resistant material.

Omni Dental Studio offers in-office Smile Perfected whitening in about 20 minutes, and bonding usually needs little or no enamel removal. The trade-off is durability: porcelain holds its color and shape longer. Our guide to veneers vs. bonding compares the two side by side.

Dr. Merchi's approach is conservative: doing what's necessary, and nothing more. If a less invasive option gets you the smile you want, that's what you'll hear. See every option on the cosmetic dentistry page.

Porcelain Veneer FAQs

Are veneers permanent?

The commitment is. Because a thin layer of enamel is removed to make room for porcelain, a tooth that has had a veneer will always need a veneer or other restoration on it. That is why Omni Dental Studio treats the consultation as a real decision point, with no pressure to commit that day.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With good care, porcelain veneers commonly last 10 to 20 years before they need replacing. Porcelain resists staining well, but it can chip under heavy force, so habits like chewing ice or biting nails shorten its life.

Will my veneers look fake?

They shouldn't. Each veneer is custom-made to the shape, shade, and translucency agreed on during planning, and the digital preview lets you see the direction before anything is prepared. Veneers tend to look artificial when the shade is too opaque or too bright for the person's face, which is exactly what planning is meant to prevent.

Does insurance cover veneers?

Usually not when the goal is appearance, because most plans treat veneers as cosmetic. If a veneer is restoring a fractured or weakened tooth, part of the cost may be covered, and the team will check your benefits. You'll get a clear cost estimate before treatment, and financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, Sunbit, and HFD.

Can I whiten my veneers later?

Porcelain doesn't respond to whitening the way natural enamel does, so the shade you choose is the shade you keep. If you want your other teeth brighter, it generally makes sense to whiten them first so the veneers can be matched to the new color.

How do I take care of veneers?

Brush twice a day with a non-abrasive toothpaste, floss daily, and keep your regular checkups and cleanings. Don't use your teeth as tools. If you grind your teeth at night, Dr. Merchi will recommend a custom nightguard to protect the porcelain.
